Introduction
Diamond cut handicrafts are considered new art forms but have roots in traditional engraving. In the art of engraving on metal surfaces like copper, traditional designs are engraved using hand tools. The reason for choosing a copper background for diamond-cut copperware is that copper has better and more flexible properties, making the engraved designs more beautiful and striking. Moreover, copper itself has an attractive and excellent appearance. In creating diamond-cut copperware, two categories of color schemes are used: one with navy blue formulas and the other with turquoise formulas. Regardless of the color formula used, the color application in this handmade art is very different from other handicrafts like enameling. Diamond cut copperware is designed and produced by the talented artists of Isfahan. The engraved designs on the pieces are usually traditional and mainly floral and bird motifs. Diamond cut handicrafts have been well-received in recent years.
